John Willis
Distinguished Researcher
John Willis has worked in the IT management industry for around 40 years. John is co-author of a few bestsellers: 1. "The DevOps Handbook: How to Create World-Class Agility, Reliability, and Security in Technology Organizations." 2. Beyond The Phoenix Project 3. Investments Unlimited (A Novel About DevOps, Security, Audit Compliance, and Thriving in the Digital Age) He was formerly the Founding Member of the Global Transformation Officer at Red Hat and the Director of Ecosystem Development at Docker. Prior to Docker Willis was the VP of Solutions for Socketplane (sold to Docker) and Enstratius (sold to Dell). Prior to to Socketplane and Enstratius Willis was the VP of Training & Services at Opscode where he formalized the training, evangelism, and professional services functions at the firm. Willis also founded Gulf Breeze Software, an award-winning IBM business partner which specializes in deploying Tivoli technology for the enterprise.Willis has authored six IBM Redbooks for IBM on enterprise systems management and was the founder and chief architect at Chain Bridge Systems.

Katie McLaughlin (@glasnt, she/they) is a Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Google Cloud, focusing on improving the experience for serverless developers, specializing in Python. They are a global core organizer for DevOpsDays, a contributing author to “97 Things Every Cloud Engineer Should Know”, and was awarded the O’Reilly Open Source Award in 2017. When they’re not changing the world, they enjoy cooking, making tapestries, and seeing just how well various application stacks handle emoji.
Shubh Chatterjee

Shubh Chatterjee is a tenured Machine learning practioner with 10+ years of experience in developing AI driven products and services. He is currently Principal data scientist and Mlops lead at Sportsbet where he is leading the development of next generation Machine learning deployment platform. In his career he has helped solve some of the hardest business problems across banking, healthcare, retail, ecommerce, and cyber-crime using the power of scientific thinking and cutting-edge engineering. In terms of education, he has studied engineering, business and actuarial science and has worked in global organisations like American Express, JP Morgan Chase, National Australia Bank and Threatmetrix. In his free time Shubh enjoys going for long runs, reading books and spending time with family.

Darragh has over 20 years ICT experience in Ireland and Australia with the last 10 plus years spent in the cloud space. Currently Director of Engineering at Zendesk his group manage storage and streaming systems at Zendesk and other internal management services.

Matty has over 20 years of experience in IT operations and is a sought-after speaker internationally, presenting at Agile, DevOps, and cloud engineering focused events worldwide. Demonstrating his keen insight into the changing landscape of technology, he recently changed his license plate from DEVOPS to KUBECTL. He lives in Chicago and has three awesome kids, whom he loves just a little bit more than he loves Diet Coke.

Pas Apicella is a Principal Engineer APJ at Snyk, working on the Snyk Platform to ensure customers secure their cloud native applications from source to cloud and in turn mitigate the risk to the business. He has extensive experience in open source software, distributed systems and modern cloud native development. He graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Computer Science and since then has worked for companies such as Snyk, Elastic, Pivotal, VMware, Oracle and IBM in various roles over 20+ years.

Nigel Wright is an SRE Lead at First AML, where he helps enable a fast moving, dynamic engineering department to safely, quickly and securely ship changes often. With over 20 years experience in tech, Nigel has help a wide range of roles in both IT Operations / Infrastructure and Software Development and has "seen some stuff". Outside of tech, Nigel keeps busy by playing music and obsessing about how to make the perfect cheeseburger.

A strong proponent of the agile methodology and systems thinking, and a believer in always seeking continuous improvement. Previously an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, his background in both finance and technology allowed native communication with each of development, product experts and end-users. This was to leave him with a lasting impression how collaboration of cross skilled individuals leads to the best results. Prior to joining Iress, he worked at Jacques Martin and NSP Lewis as both an actuarial analyst and investment consultant.
